Turning Point Volunteers

Fellowship Community Outreach Project – The Turning Point Center

turningpoint

Our Fellowship provides, prepares, and serves lunch at the Turning Point Center every third Saturday of the month. The proceeds of our collection on the second Sunday of each month funds this work. Turning Point provides an array of services from food, shelter, and clothing to medical, mental health, social services, and employment training for homeless elderly (50 or older). It is the only shelter in the area that focuses on the elderly.

Turning Point Center is located at 1701 Jacquelyn, very near our building. We need five volunteers every third Saturday to make this program successful. We hope that everyone will participate in this very special Community Outreach Project. To learn more about volunteering please contact the Social Justice and Community Outreach committee at [email protected].

“Judge Not”
Speaker:  Patti Henry

A new year is upon us, a new commitment to bettering life, a new commitment, as Unitarian Universalists, to bettering life for ALL.  But how?  Come hear our lay minister, Patti Henry, talk about just that, echoing the work of Martin Luther King who strived for equality and justice for all.

After the service, please stay for Coffee and Conversation.
