Title:  “Journey to Assisi”

This past September I had the good fortune to travel to Italy with a group of seasoned and spiritually adept travelers on an exploration of some holy sites in Italy. The theme of our journey was the “Perennial Philosophy”, the notion, that, at their center, all religions hold the same values of honoring the Life Principle (aka God), and treating our fellow humans the way we would be treated. This group had been traveling to India for four separate journeys, but this time, our leader, Phillip Goldberg, wanted to explore Christian mysticism and one its most influential and sincere followers of Jesus, St. Francis of Asissi. St. Francis has been very important in my spiritual development so I immediately agreed to join them. It turned out to be one of the most significant events of my life.
