Why are you a member?

From our members:

“Unitarians come together to learn from each other, to accept and to be inclusive of people’s differences, and to work for a better world. We try to be the best human beings we can be.”

“UU’s are open to a variety of approaches to religion. They stand by you as you traverse the stages of your life.”

“The hallmarks for me of being a UU are respect for other’s point of view – that is the empathy to accept the opinions of others who may seem different from us in terms of our experiences in life – both religious and otherwise. I’ve been a member of a couple of different religions, but I actually did not have the freedom to select either one. They were more or less picked out for me.”

“I believe in Nature and Nature’s God and the moral teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.”

An American Story.  Gus Torres

We are all immigrants in America. Hear the story of two immigrants that fit the contents of their entire lives into a couple of suitcases and chanced fate to fly to the US in search of a better life and the American dream. Listen to a classic story of the country that welcomed them (although not always with open arms) and gave them a path to become part of the American tapestry. Can America still be the land of the free and the home of the brave in these trying times? What has changed and what can UUs do to again make this an open and welcoming country?

After service join us for coffee and fellowship in the foyer.
