Labyrinth
Caroline Adams writes: “Your life is a sacred journey. And it is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way. You are on the path… exactly where you are meant to be right now… And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love.”
The labyrinth – one of the most beautiful in Houston, is a model of our UU spiritual path. It is an ancient symbol that combines the circle with the spiral. It meanders, but the way in is the way out. Unlike a maze, the labyrinth requires no decision-making. Walking a labyrinth can, if we allow it to, take us on a pilgrimage into our deepest selves and back out with a greater understanding.
Like the beautiful garden benches that grace our grounds, our labyrinth was designed by members and constructed as an Eagle Scout Project. It is accessible from the parking lot and is an always-available spiritual journey.
