Dorenne is a native Texan, born in Corpus Christi but moved to Massachusetts in her early teens, and graduating from Watertown High School in 1971. After graduation, she became a Certified Lab Technician, working for hospitals in the Boston area. Returning to Texas in 1975, Houston seemed promising in the medical field for her, but decided to change careers and attend college. Working and attending college for the next 3 years at SJC & HCC, she landed a job in banking (computer) services, then at such companies as Stewart & Stevenson, Hughes Drilling Fluids, and Coca Cola, and insurance agencies. After recovering from a car accident (’95), Dorenne was finally able to go back to work, but only part-time. The Fellowship hired her December of '96 and has been here ever since.
Although Dorenne is not a member of the Fellowship and explored different religions in her younger years, discovering Unitarianism while working here is very close to how she believes.
"The Fellowship is a beautiful facility and has been a wonderful place to work - a second family of sorts and is an honor to be of service for a great, friendly group of people."
